RECREATING CLASSIC WORKS OF ART |ART

Julianne Moore in Armani Privé as a Degas dancer, Peter Lindbergh

I am a huge fan of historical paintings being recreated in modern photography, and I recently discovered two shoots that involved two actresses posing as subjects from famous works of art in couture gowns. These were Julianne Moore shot by Peter Lindbergh for the May 2008 edition of Harper's Bazaar and Nicole Kidman shot by Steven Meisel for the June 1999 edition of Vogue.

In both series, the actresses' timeless beauty and Lindbergh and Meisel's refined portrait photography deliver beautiful recreations that stand as works of art of their own...
